Not one to let an opportunity pass by, District Administrator Phill Klamm of Walworth Jt. School District #1 recently met with staffers from Rep. Bryan Steil's office to highlight areas of interest for the school district. The staffers visited Walworth on Dec. 8.
Klamm presented staffers Gabi Westphal and Jack Spoden with a Walworth T-shirt and shared his agenda.
"I was excited to learn that Rep. Steil's staff was going to be in Walworth to meet with constituents," said Klamm. "We have been working hard to connect with our Wisconsin and U.S. Representatives and Senators this year as a part of our 'Better Together' initiative.
"To have a few minutes with them to talk about Walworth Jt. School District #1 and our community was very important to me."
Steil, a Republican, is a U.S. representative for the Wisconsin 1st congressional district.
"The staff members listened intently and showed genuine interest in the issues I shared with them," said Klamm. "I talked at length about the current needs of our students and families. Most importantly, I wanted them to know that we want to increase our communication and partnership with them as a part of our emphasis on being 'Better Together.'"
Klamm told the staffers the pressing issues were school funding as well as increasing student and family needs.
Besides the T-shirt, Klamm left the staffers with the latest district communication letter, the past two district newsletters, a copy of the latest school student newspaper, a Better Together decal for the office and his business card.
