Mrs. Fiewegers's class went to visit the Walworth Village Hall. In Social Studies, we learned about the Levels of Government and the types of services the government provides to people. Students also learned about the election process. The Village Clerk created a mock election for the students to participate in. Students got to use ballots and were given their own voter registration cards! Police officers, Firefighters, and Village Public Works employees also shared with us their responsibilities and showed us tools they use for their jobs. We also met the Mayor, Village Clerk, and Village Deputy. It was a very fun and educational opportunity. Thanks to all those at the Walworth Village Hall for putting this together for us! We appreciate your kindness and generosity.

Third graders had fun trying to get toothpaste back into their tubes of toothpaste! Next they listened to the book "My Mouth is a Volcano", and then discussed how words are like the toothpaste, once they come out, it’s impossible to put them back in (your mouth). We can apologize for our words but we can’t erase the bad feelings that they may have caused another person. We need to try to remember to be mindful of the words we use.
