Miss Gleeson's and Mrs. Wenzel's second graders took advantage of an amazing opportunity to learn basic water safety knowledge and skills through the YMCA Splash-Safety Around Water program. Given the community’s proximity to local lake access in addition to students’ lack of swimming experience, it is easy to realize the importance and necessity of this program. The 5-week program was offered free of charge as it is funded by the YMCA and supported by generous donations from the community. Through “Jump, Push, Turn, Grab” and “Swim, Float, Swim”, the second graders gained confidence around the water and learned essential skills to prevent drowning. Thank you to the exceptional staff at the Geneva Lakes Family YMCA for their invaluable instruction!

Mrs. Cullen's math class answered the survey question: Will Mrs. Dowden have a boy or a girl?. We wore blue for boy and pink for girl. Then, we made a representation of our data. The results were boy 9 and girl 4. Will they be right? I bet we will find out soon!

Thank you Daniels Foods for sponsoring a "Better Together" collaboration for the month of February. The students and staff appreciate your continued support!
Each month Amy Faul, Little Professors Learning Center director, reaches out to local businesses to sponsor the "Better Together" collaboration. This campaign gives each middle school homeroom a $10 gift card to distribute to a student who is making our school "Better!" Businesses that sponsor a month receive a "Better Together" sticker to display.
