During the month of February, we celebrated "Diversity" in Guidance class. Students in JK-4th grade boarded a plane and traveled to Hungary, Brazil, Iceland, Thailand, and Mexico. Through the use of technology and "good old fashioned imagination," our adventures were fantastic! From climbing a pyramid in Chichen Itza to swimming in the Blue Lagoon and taking a helicopter ride for great aerial views of geysers, our adventures were priceless! Our country visits also included the students either being able to try native food from that country or making a project. Our goal is for students to understand themselves and appreciate the diverse backgrounds and experiences of others. Spread acceptance, tolerance and kindness! #WalworthJ1

Mrs. Hummel's kindergarten had so much fun celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday! They had a great time dressing up for Wacky Wednesday, with backwards clothes, mis-matched shoes and socks, and crazy hair! The class made green eggs and ham, and each student got to crack his/her own egg! Of course the children asked, Mr. KLAMM, do you like green eggs and HAM?" Yes, he did! Mr. Beauchaine was a special guest reader of Green Eggs and Ham, and he didn't like our green eggs and ham, he LOVED them! Everyone had fun dressing up with our special Dr. Seuss props and costumes! If was a wonderful week of rhyming and fun with Dr. Seuss stories, cartoons, art projects, and creativity! ❤📚❤ #DrSeuss #WeLoveReading #WalworthJ1

Miss Koltes' kindergarten students enjoyed learning about Dr. Seuss last week. The children had the opportunity to listen to many wonderful Dr. Seuss books and were engaged in a variety of hands-on learning activities to go along with each book. They really LOVED our fun Dr. Seuss dress up days that included silly socks, crazy hair, wacky outfits, wearing green, and fun hats. #WeLoveReading #DrSeuss #WalworthJ1
